More than a place to
keep your crypto.
Lace began as a light wallet for Cardano. Today, it’s growing into something bigger: one thoughtful interface for exploring multiple blockchain worlds—without giving up control of your keys.
Built by Input Output Global, Lace puts self-custody at the center. With the release of Lace 2.0, Cardano, Bitcoin, and Midnight come together in one browser extension, making it easier to move between ecosystems without juggling separate wallets.
One interface. Different networks. You stay in control.
What is Lace Wallet?
Lace is a browser-based cryptocurrency wallet designed around self-custody, interoperability, and user choice. Unlike a centralized exchange, Lace doesn’t hold your assets for you: your private keys remain yours.
Its multi-chain approach brings several networks into a single application, reducing the friction of switching between tools. Lace is available as a browser extension, with mobile apps for managing assets on the go.
One extension.
A whole ecosystem.
From private transactions to delegated stake, here are the features that make Lace more than a keyring.
Three networks, one view.
Lace 2.0 brings Cardano, Bitcoin, and Midnight under one roof. Manage Cardano native assets, Bitcoin holdings, and Midnight tokens through a unified experience. The onboarding flow lets you create Cardano and Bitcoin wallets together, while Midnight support is available through the extension.
Rational privacy.
Lace Midnight distinguishes between unshielded public tokens and shielded private tokens. Choose the visibility that suits each transaction. Shielded tokens use zero-knowledge technology to protect sensitive details—like sender, receiver, and amount—while unshielded assets remain transparent for public activity and governance.
Meet the DUST Tank.
Think of DUST as fuel for private transactions on Midnight. By designating NIGHT tokens, users participate in DUST generation. The DUST Tank gives you a quick read on available capacity, with status indicators that show whether it’s refilling or decaying.
Swaps, built right in.
Lace v1.31 introduced in-wallet Cardano token swaps, powered by SteelSwap. Review estimated amounts, network fees, and exchange rates before confirming. The default slippage tolerance is 0.5%.
Lace acts as an interface to decentralized exchanges—it doesn’t execute trades itself or provide financial advice. Always review the details before confirming a swap.
Know before you swap. Rates and fees can change between quote and confirmation.
Spread your stake.
Cardano multi-staking lets you delegate to up to ten stake pools at once, with percentage allocations managed from one place. Lace’s improved TxBuilder minimizes allocation drift, and your stake information is visible in the staking tab.
Delegated ADA remains in your wallet and is not locked. Wallets with more than 80 UTXO sets cannot use multi-staking due to transaction size limitations.
Your keys, with backup.
For additional security, Lace can pair with Ledger, Trezor, and SeedSigner hardware wallets. SeedSigner integration enables air-gapped signing with animated QR codes—no USB connection required.
Browser support varies by release. Check the official Lace site for the latest compatibility. Lace Mobile is available on Android and iOS with send, receive, stake, swap, and DApp connectivity.
Questions, answered.
A few things worth knowing before you get started.
Is Lace safe and non-custodial?+
Yes. Lace is non-custodial, so you control your private keys and assets. The wallet has been independently audited and manually verified by external auditor FYEO. Hardware wallets such as Ledger, Trezor, and SeedSigner add another layer of protection.
How do I receive staking rewards?+
Rewards are distributed to your rewards address at the end of a delegation cycle. A cycle consists of four epochs, each five days long, so initial rewards typically arrive after 16–20 days. After that, rewards continue after each epoch. Your delegated ADA remains in your wallet and is never locked.
How many pools can I delegate to?+
Multi-staking supports delegation to up to ten stake pools. Adjust each pool’s percentage allocation through the Manage interface. Wallets with more than 80 UTXO sets cannot use multi-staking due to protocol transaction-size limits.
Can I swap tokens inside Lace?+
Yes. Choose tokens, review estimated amounts, fees, and exchange rates, then confirm within the wallet. Lace connects to decentralized exchanges and is an interface—not a trade executor or source of financial advice.
What is DUST, exactly?+
DUST powers privacy-enabled transactions on Midnight. Designating NIGHT tokens participates in DUST generation. The DUST Tank shows available capacity and whether it is refilling or decaying.
My funds seem missing after upgrading. What now?+
First, check that you’re using version 2.0.4 or later. If migration was interrupted, reopen the extension to resume the wizard. If a wallet was skipped, choose “Add wallet” → “Restore wallet” and use its recovery phrase. Never share your recovery phrase with anyone.
